Eleven/Eleven/Fourteen

"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country’s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations…" -President Wilson, 1919

On June 1, 1954 legeslation provided that the word "Armistice" in the Act of 1938 would be replaced with "Veterans" to insure that ALL veterans and their organizations be honored on the nationally observed holiday.

Special shoutout to all of the brave men and women who sacrafice every day of their lives so that I can live another. I am so proud to know a few of them and be able to call them my family. I don't see you all very often but your courage and heroism are respected even when you're miles away. Love you all, can't wait till I see you next fam <3
